The Cloth Place
|
There was an ecstatic response from the 1100 children who took part in The Cloth Place from 15th June - 3rd July. Children said things like ‘this was the best day of my life’ and lots more in the same vein. Given that the children themselves have made such a resounding statement about their understanding of their own developing needs, we are determined to document the shared experience and agree some proposals arising out of our shared reflection.

To add to the movies we started making with three schools before the end of term (see 'Filling the Shed'), we are collecting stories and drawings that children have made in response to their experience. Next we intend to analyse the footage to demonstrate the ways in which the children made use of The Cloth Place. Next term we will be inviting schools across the County to take part in reflective professional development, bringing teachers, parents and other practitioners to discuss together small extracts of film shot during the Cloth Place. These conversations will be brought together into some discussion topics for a seminar to be held in mid-October. |
