The Avonmouth Asset Club and Big Wide Talk were delighted with the results from 'Looking Out Looking In' and a follow up exhibition to celebrate the work 'Enabling Achievement: Parents Make it Happen' was arranged. The idea was to invite practitioners, policy makers and managers to share in discussion about the approach and the outcomes. Two of the rooms at Freshways Family Resource Centre were set up as a comfortable jazz club environment with cloth musicians and a real cocktail bar. Cocktails were mixed to match some of the children's inventions, for example, 'Cutty Squeezy' (cointreau, orange juice, lemon juice) was served with film of the children's 'cutty squeezy' activity. A convivial atmosphere quickly developed in which the Asset Club parents and practitioners presented the research stories produced as a result of 'Looking Out Looking In' as well as a new work of their own 'We Can Make it Happen' describing the Asset Club experience.
