The History of Big Wide Talk

Big Wide Talk began at the invitation of the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, an organisation that wished to invest in a development project to improve practice with young children. The brief was deliberately wide and non-specific. From the beginning, the project director determined that a new way of working would evolve through a process of principled, participative action research at the local level. Theatres of Learning are the product of this work over ten years. This section lists and references the significant developments that have taken place along the way.
